We currently have great assignments for Structural Inspectors with some of our top clients.  As a Construction Inspector, you will be supporting our client, one of the world’s largest engineering, construction, technical and management services firms.

Job Responsibilities

The Structural Inspector will join the project team on-site at multiple federal building job sites in Washington D.C.  The Structural Inspector will be responsible for conducting tests to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications and may include the following:

  • Performing civil and structural tests such as soil compaction, moisture content, aggregation, graduation, concrete slump, air entrainment, concrete compression, lines and grades surveys, bolt torques and concrete coring
  • Performing destructive and nondestructive tests on metals and other materials through magnaflex, dye-penetrant, radiographic, tension and compression, paint thickness and resistivity
  • Performing continuing inspection of painting and insulation to ensure thickness and coverage continuity
  • Providing general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship
  • Verifying equipment alignment and balancing operations
  • Participating in the development of quality control reports and procedures
  • Participating in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports
  • May administer welder qualifications tests
  • Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Specific qualifications for the Structural Inspector role include:

  • 2 year degree in technical discipline or construction related field, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience is required
  • 5+ years’ structural inspection related experience on heavy construction projects is required; previous work in an industrial environment is preferred
  • OSHA 10 hour certification required, 30 hour preferred
  • Formal certification(s) from an independent organization is preferred
  • Knowledge of PROLOG is preferred
  • Must be able to pass standard Federal background investigation
